Pamplemousse Wine Dinner 2008

On Wednesday, May 7, 2008, Walden held its 2nd Annual Pamplemousse Wine Dinner at the delectable Pamplemousse Grille in Solana Beach. Thanks to talented Walden Board Members Jaye Connolly and Nancy Linke Patton, and dedicated volunteer Dawn Grossman, wife of board member Randy Grossman, the evening included a private reception at the home of Pamplemousse Chef and Owner Jeffrey Strauss.

With breathtaking views, the Strauss home overlooks the Pacific Ocean and guests enjoyed their first food and wine pairing. Special thanks to Renato Cautela and Jim Sweeney of Huneens Vintners who provided perfectly paired wines from Veramonte, Faust and Primus wineries for each of five courses.

The evening culminated with an auction that included a private in-home dinner for ten guests provided by Chef Jeffery Strauss, private airplane trip for six to Napa Valley for lunch and a behind-the-scenes tour of the exclusive Quintessa Winery, and four tickets to Padres vs. Yankees to be held at Yankee Stadium on Father’s Day including airfare and hotel.
