WINE D'VINE 2011 A SUCCESS

Record amount raised for youth: $327,208!

Oct 12, 2011 turned out to be one of San Diego's hottest days of the year and the energy at Walden's 8th Annual Wine D'Vine continued to sizzle as attendees helped make this a record-breaking year. At the elegant Elizabeth Ballroom at The Grand Del Mar, a new attendance high of 420 guests were treated to sumptuous appetizers, award-winning wines and crafted beers from eight restaurants, seven wineries and one brewery. A lavish selection of desserts added the finishing touch on an evening of fine food and wine.

While sampling the fare, attendees had a chance to bid on a record total of 70 silent auction items and four live auction items. Guests also had a chance to learn about Walden's programs that serve abused and neglected youth through the presentation of a slide show that described the positive outcomes made possible through philanthropic support. Attendees rose to the challenge of supporting Walden's youth by raising a record amount in event history: a net total of $327,208!
