Ways to Help

It is hard to imagine the challenges of being a child living with an emotional, mental or physical impairment. Now, imagine compounding that obstacle with a mentally, physically and/or sexually abusive home environment.

The stories of Walden's children are often so heartbreaking, they seem impossible. Many of these children have suffered the trauma of relocating multiple times before they come to us. To end this vicious cycle, the mission of Walden Family Services is to support the lives of children and families through lasting relationships.

You can help Walden's children in many different ways:

You can make a financial donation to Walden. It is never too late to make a difference. By making an investment in the lives of foster and adoptive children today, you can help change lives tomorrow. Every dollar makes a difference!

Purchase a Tile.  Help support Walden's 35th Anniversary Campaign by purchasing a tile.  Tiles make great gifts for personal and professional anniversaries, birthdays and other commemorative occassions.  You can design your own tile, and Walden will send a tile photo and greeting card to you or the gift recipient.

Talk with your financial or tax advisor.  You can learn how to leave more to your family and less to the IRS while benefiting Walden Family Services utilizing tax saving strategies.   

You can participate  in one of our special events. Our annual Wine D'Vine event, held every October, is our primary fundraiser for the year.

You can purchase an item from our Wish List. Often, our foster children arrive in the middle of the night with just the clothes on their backs. We are always in need of diapers, infant and toddler clothing, strollers, car seats, gas and grocery gift cards.

You can offer your time and talent as a volunteer.  Volunteers are important to Walden. We need volunteers in many different capacities so we can focus on healing our foster children.

Sign up for The Blind Squirrel and receive daily discounts of 50%-90% off the best restaurants, services, products and activities in San Diego.  The Blind Squirrel will donate a percentage of proceeds for every purchase to Walden to further our mission.  Be sure to tell your friends about this great opportunity!
