Volunteer

Walden needs volunteers with different skill sets throughout the year.  If you have time to spare and would like to make a difference in the life of a child, please contact tstivers@waldenfamily.org  or call (619) 727-5881.

Corporate/Social: Many companies, churches, schools and philanthropic groups choose to collect donations, toys, infant/toddler clothing and diapers on behalf of Walden.  If you are interested in hosting a drive for Walden at your organization, please let us know and we will provide you with marketing materials and a speaker, if desired.

Special Events: Wine D'Vine is held every October and we are always in need of volunteers for our biggest fundraiser of the year.  Whether you choose to solicit auction items, sell sponsorships and tickets or work the cash register on the day of the event, we can use your assistance.

Speakers Bureau:  Help us spread the word about Walden Family Services and our need for foster/adoptive families.  If you are passionate about our cause and not shy about public speaking, we will train you to speak on our behalf as well as provide marketing materials.

General Office: Like many non-profits, Walden has struggled in this difficult economy.  We are in need of volunteers who can regularly work in our corporate office and assist with general office duties such as copying, filing and organizing non-confidential work.  Volunteers must be finger printed, pass a drug and medical test, have a valid driver's license and make a one-year commitment of at least 2 days per month.
