Teresa Stivers is the Executive Director of Walden Family Services, a non-profit organization dedicated to support the lives of children and families through lasting relationships. Prior to joining Walden, she served as the Executive Director of the Child Abuse Prevention Foundation (now known as Promises2kids) as well as Deputy Chief of Staff to Mayor Susan Golding.

A graduate of Bath University in England, Sue has over 20 years of experience in social work and foster care. In 1989, Sue moved from England to Southern California where she completed her master’s degree in Psychology and worked as a volunteer for Alternatives to Domestic Violence setting up children’s support groups.  In 2000, Sue joined Walden’s Riverside Office, as a social worker and has held various positions at Walden since this time.  Under her leadership, the Riverside foster care program expanded to care for teens with developmental disabilities and launched the program for children and teens with special health care needs.  From November 2009 to October 2010, Sue served as Walden's Interim Chief Executive Officer.  She currently serves at Walden's Senior Director of Operations.

Marci has over 17 years of experience in social services and foster care.  She joined the Walden team in 2002 as a Social Work Supervisor. Marci was later promoted to Regional Director for all L.A. County operations. Marci oversees Walden’s Northridge office. Her areas of expertise include working with special needs foster children, foster teens, and medically-fragile children.  Marci holds bachelor’s degrees in Sociology and Social Ecology from the University of California, Irvine, and a master’s degree in counseling from New York University.  

 

Mary Frame

A graduate of the University of Texas-El Paso, Mary has more than 20 years of experience in social services, with a focus on children’s services.  Prior to coming to California in 2002, Mary started two group homes and a day treatment program in two states. She began working for Walden in 2003 as the director of the San Bernardino office.  Since then, she has contributed broadly to Walden’s foster care programs. In 2010, she started the Aftercare program for emancipated foster youth in the Apple Valley region under contract with San Bernardino County. In addition to leading programs to assist Walden’s emancipated foster youth, Mary led the Continuous Quality Improvement efforts for Walden’s San Bernardino and Riverside offices for 8 years before taking on the role of Director of Quality Assurance for the agency in August 2011.
